this was published online in March of 2005. It was my first online publication. Unfortunately, the ezine is no longer publishing or online...TOMORROWS RAIN
Shelter's protection I long for from the coming of tomorrow's rain.
My life is imprisoned by gripping anguish and encased by crippling inner pain.
Cold and shivering, I am trapped under the weight of its torrential downpour.
I am drenched and cannot breathe. I'll drown here like this if I do not discover something more.
I watch in horror as the second hand relays to me that today is about to turn into another tomorrow.
Desperately, I seek protection in the depths of heavy shadows.
As I cling to my faith, I pray I can find peace hidden in its deepest fold.
If I can achieve this, perhaps, I will avoid the dreadful coming of tomorrow's rain.

Lisa, you written a great poem. We all have those times when we feel life is "drowning" us. But we must have hope and belief and that is what you provide in the end of your poem..an edge of hope Truly enjoyed this I remember this poem a few years back, and it is still a great write and read have great day

great passages in this well-written poem such as this one:
"My life is imprisoned by gripping anguish and encased by crippling inner pain."
you touch on many emotions such as pain ,anguish, fear, self-doubt as well as belief, perseverance, hope and much more...beautiful picture too!

I enjoyed the read. I know some days I have felt as if life was going to swallow me whole, but through prayer I always get over those bad days...great write!
these are my favorite parts:
"I watch in horror as the second hand relays to me that today is about to turn into another tomorrow.
Desperately, I seek protection in the depths of heavy shadows.
As I cling to my faith, I pray I can find peace hidden in its deepest fold.
If I can achieve this, perhaps, I will avoid the dreadful coming of tomorrow's rain."

this sums it up so well:
"Shelter's protection I long for from the coming of tomorrow's rain."
isn't that what we all want, to be sheltered from all of life's problems...great stuff here Lisa!
