Hey everyone, I pulled this one up today because I do not have time to post a new poem...It's slightly different from when I first posted it years ago...hope you guys like it Sometimes every poet becomes a thief.
At times, words elude us, leaving only empty thoughts and remnants of our beliefs.
Often, we dance and fall into the arms of misery and grief.
In our possession, we often hold nothing and feel the loss of relief.
Frequently, our hopes, desires and dreams are stolen by the crush of disbelief.
All we love and cherish, we place on the shallow bed of a broken leaf.
And pray within the depths of our precious souls, someone, some day, will offer us gentle release.
Sometimes every poet becomes a thief.

I like this one, good lines going on. I like this part the best and I agree we all do become a thief when we get writer's block :

Lisa this is a very good poem. I like the title plus these lines: All we know we hold on the shallow bed of a broken leaf. And our hopes, desires and dreams are often stolen by the crush of disbelief. Sometimes every poet becomes a thief. Lovely work!
