On Delivery
echo
still breeze, cold air
China white in pocket
death notice on delivery
for her
events
in her life have
betrayed her, rendering
her soul’s fragile core battered and
broken
she was
a warrior
and kind friend to many
now she lies lifeless in a cold
pine box
in the
years to follow
her life won’t gain value
she will be forgotten like all
the rest
