FORGOTTEN CHILD

Thrown out of house
by drunken
mother, father
never known.

Living on the streets,
surviving on intuition
and gift of luck.

Bed made of cold asphalt.
Dinner from a garbage can.
Cover of darkness,
her only protection.

Clutching tattered
teddy bear as
eyes of sorrow
stare at broken moon.

Forgotten child,
lost amongst the hustle,
tomorrow, will become,
someone's elses prey...
