Reminiscent of the port side pleasures Starboard right my port to left Flukes of the dangling anchors Or a dimple in a chin, or cleft Sharpened bows that cleave the seas Porpoise riding the curling waves The distant stormy clouds, the calm The oceans,' Poseidon at his ease The ozone tang, the salt soaked waves The lonely forward lookout man Eyes scouring the distant horizon No icebergs, seas now flat calm I hear the distant singing sirens Luring seamen to desert their ride Mermaids? I think not! Sharks in cod's clothing Fish and chips, an English meal I eat with pride.

Good lord man but you get a lot out of a simple meal! But then, my friend, a true seaman would. Very nicely done piece and I marvel at how masterfully you can tie eating fish and chips in with your love of the sea. Yes, it is an "English meal" but popularized here in the US too. We used to have an Arthur Treacher's Fish And Chips right here in good, old Rochester, NY back in the day. Great food that even my wife loved and she's Italian! Thanks a lot Andrew, now you got me hungry for it! Take care mate, Mike

I love the sense of humor of this one. nice work... it seems that the speaker is a bit, but delightfully tipsy.
