Gifts And Treasures

Such a giving gift,
family and friends,
going into a new year
their love never ends.

Though life gives us
many ups and many downs,
thanks to these people
we don't always wear frowns.

Family and friends
help us deal with the hard,
what we all face
with the turn of a card.

Because fortune is fickle
and fate is a gamble,
we don't know what's coming
as onward we ramble.

Down so many paths
and around all those turns
these folks walk right by us
and their caring light burns.

Candles in the darkness,
beacons in the night,
fighting the good fight
with all of their might.

They stand strong as family,
they stand strong as friends,
they stand strong as comrades
and their love never ends.

Family and friends,
a most giving treasure,
lighting our lives and
giving us pleasure.
