The Material Of America (2011)
What kind of material makeup builds the America Dream Patchwork quilt bearing the core of its heartbeats bearing. Sown seeds germinating proud the fertile ground inheritance Pride passed down by generations of America's History and Heritage.
What threads sow the soil to the blood that was felled here? Where an upstart nation dared to challenge a world power Goliath,. Our sling shot words did declare a sovereign nation against a tyrant That a tattered torn Ole Glory has stood Star Spangles Banner together.
What pieces America together is a magical composition of creation, Where the greatest diversity ever known to humanity in peace coexists That harmony that blends into the harmonic orchestration of a nation Having a formula like no others that sings a melody of God Bless America.
Oh tears, thread into fibers of woven weave words twirling into lines, Where patch words strand together upon sailing minds floating canvas. Oh wings fly high among the currents billowing bright sunshine thoughts, Where our Uni-Verse within melts with the beauty - of the surrounding material of America. David Lester Young 11/21/11 ©

Hi A well constructed thoughtful homage for the American experiment. I think the diversity you speak off has stressed the binds that tie as of late. I hope our nation will weather this storm as it has many others in our turmoil filled past. Farkas1

Thanks Lisa and Farkas for your kind words. Yes the fabric of America indeed gets torn so it can be sown back together.

You wrote a deep poem about your America and while I read it I could so well recognize many similarities to "the world", so it can partly be written for countries on the old continent too. You always grant a special thought, thank you Dave. Blessings! Ulla xx
