The train of thought Roses wilt and lose their fragrance Another summer finds an end Days grow slowly short and silent And winter to life gives a bend. Now it's good to have you near me So there won't be any blame On what we may call shortcomings You share it all just the same.
We may have to battle shadows Thus we give each other strength This will then divide the burden Struggle to light, now half the length Heaven sends a gift each new day We find good times and skies blue What a blessing to just spend all With my heart's gem – that is you.
