Somewhere
Our longing for life’s happiness May fail here but seems to lie Somewhere behind the hill tops Where the summits meet the sky.
We’re looking out for sails of dreams They rarely show but seem to be Somewhere over wide horizon On a deep and distant sea.
All those precious things in life So often are beyond our reach Thus it's said that is the way To learn what life means to teach.
We aim for unattainable Hard expending our will To keep on searching for what is Somewhere waiting on us still.

Seems to have an ethereal quality to me especially in the first two verses. Another very pretty and meaningful poem! I do believe that in Verse 3 you want "it's". The last verse I reread and it is quite interestingly said. The way I take it is that complete happiness is not attainable and yet is still sought. If that's the case, perhaps more of us should work on being happier with the measure of happiness life does give us. Thank you for a fine poem!
Namaste, Mike

In deed we often aim for the "too much", for fantasies etc. Some riches of life are only reached behind all stumbling turns or even in the last moments of our earthly life. Thank you for correcting me, I appreciate it. Whereas I must say, happiness is nothing we must search for because happiness is always present if we recognise it every day and it springs from contentment deep within ourselves. This poem was somehow an echo after a very sorrowful and lonely time. Wishing you life's best! Blessings, Ursula xx
