All the world breathed softly, like rustling silken lullaby’s
That gently caress creation from the restfulness of its sleep,
In the birth cradle of life, even echoes forget where they came from
There is a hush in the heart of forever that reverberates continually,
As sweet waves of peace so nearly imperceptible, wash over a shore
That has felt many emotions, and sustained many memories,
And yet from a whisper to a roar, life dresses in many colours
That intertwine themselves into so many rainbows of the day.
Sometimes in shadowed green woodland, life can sleep for a while
As all around the process of creation goes on, from streams to rivers
And from rivers to oceans, from a leaf to a tree, from a tree to the sky
From such puzzles of life as why sunlight and shadows are linked so closely,
For there are times when a shadow is as blessed as a rainbow,
And night can be as blessed as day, for memories grow from many things
From the night they glow like celestial lighthouses, painted by a moon
Of never ending beauty, and sprinkled with star scattered promises.
And soon the dawn draws breath at the beauty of new creation all around
And she sends the sun scrambling up the sky, illuminating heaven again
As the sun looks down upon meadows and glades of shining sprinkled green
And stream beds of tumbling pebbles shining in their refracted living glow
While sun fingers write everlasting verse upon it’s reflective surface
Rhymes of explanations so perfectly written that it is futile to question them,
Between beginnings and endings, so much depends on how we walk
And where we stop to rest a while, to listen as the world breathes softly…
