Undefined whispering dancing around
Such a subtle disguise in a semblance of sound,
And while they are invisible yet from my sight
I can just see the dawn from the depths of the night,
Far away on the rim, like a maiden’s soft smile
Where the ocean is wandering, mile upon mile,
There are voices again drifting gently along
Where they catch my attention, and sing me my song.
Unexplained echoes that come back to me
On the relaxing waves of a psalm dancing sea,
Ride on infinitesimal strips of a dream
And before they can reach me, I see their soft gleam
Like headlights that twinkle through moon scattered mist
Like a faint breathing sigh, or like lips I have kissed,
And with silk apprehension I tip toe away
With no word of farewell, or of what I can say.
Ethereal fingers that pluck at my sleeve
Send a chill down my spine I can hardly believe,
Like a ghost in a meadow that whispered a song
Of the places I’d been, and of where I belong,
There were only my footprints that walked on the sand
Despite hearing her breathing, and holding her hand,
And I thought of how sacred these moments can be
As we clung to our dreams and we looked out to sea…
