Beautiful Lie, Beautiful Life
Should I be shocked? Should I mourn the loss? When it never offered any gain.
Living this beautiful lie took its toll. Cold soul feels numb. Was I blindsided? Not really. Guess I knew all along the endgame would be an elaborate trick.
Why in hell wouldn't it be? Life has never been correct or lenient. Nor has it ever ventured on the right side of wrong. My life is a toleration I have come to accept.
I’m caught between the lie and the truth. Neither one serves up an escape. Both have left me ravaged and trapped inside the mire without hope of rescue.
The façade of the lie looks glorious when staring at it all from inside out. Truth is, the discovery of my ugly existence has left me painfully aware of the beautiful lie of the beautiful life I live.
