What are some songs that inspire your poetry? Songs that you listen to and they take you some where you have to go and you write all about it.

It depends entirely on my mood at the time. I listen to just about anything(sorry just can't do rap or most C&W)from Chopin and Mozart to Shagreth. It all takes me different places and inspires different thoughts

"Sitting on Top of the World"--Howlin' Wolf version "Til I'm Dead and Cold"--BB King "Sympathy for the Devil"--Stones "Positively Fourth Street"--Dylan "Mama Told Me Not to Come!" Randy Newman "Rhapsody in Blue"--Gershwin
And many, many more... Music is poetry to me with or without lyrics.

Anything by Counting Crows.
Adam Duritz has such a wonderful way with words. I use their lyrics to inspire my writing as well as my poetry.
Music will always be a muse.

Sheesh!! There's a question!! lol!
Emmmm... Yep here they are-
Marilyn Manson... (Of course) -The fight song (now that's so so good...) -The nobodies
Guns 'n' Roses -Welcome to the jungle -Live and let die -Sympathy for the devil -Get in the ring (good anger buster, clears your head!) -Civil war -Don't cry -Estranged -Locomotive -November Rain (yes the inevitable one)
Ok so bear in mind that that is just what I'm listening to NOW. So many different musical influences have inspired me in my short life that I couldn't mention them all.
Oh and My Chemical Romance and Kamelot. Oh and Kyo also.

Any song off the Factotum soundtrack. The music matches the feelings of Bukowski poems perfectly!
