¡°Whoa¡ you mean your Psychology teacher has never worn jeans in her whole life? What a rarity in the modern days!¡±
¡°Well, there is a plethora of abnormal things at my school than you can believe, Aqua. I¡¯m not being comprehensive enough on the description of my school. I haven¡¯t covered even half the topics I want to tell you.¡±
¡°Wow, Debbie, you school must be great! The school I go to right now have a dearth of interesting events. The surroundings are worse than deficient!¡± Aqua groaned.
¡°Oh, Aqua, nothing reaches up to your standards,¡± Claudia, who hadn¡¯t spoke for a while, retorted half-heartedly.
¡°My standards are low enough, Claudia!¡±
¡°Whatever. I want to go replenish my orange juice.¡± Claudia rose from the soft message pillows that were prevalent. Before she went into Aqua¡¯s quaint, old-fashioned kitchen, Claudia admired the crystals sitting serenely on the glass shelves. Aqua had the singular hobby of collecting crystals. Aqua believed an orthodox belief that crystals bring in pleasant aura. Claudia, on the other hand, had the idiosyncrasy of gazing at the shiny decorations. She never missed the crystals once during the visits to Aqua¡¯s home. Claudia liked the sapphire and mauve ones the most. They seemed to hold more memories¡ and sorrows.
After she filled her scant paper cup, which was accidentally crushed by Debbie in an earlier collide, Claudia returned to the Aqua and Debbie¡¯s conversation.
¡°Hey, Debbie, what did you do that for?¡± Aqua protested loudly, ¡°My head is not for you paltry paw to buffet at!¡±
¡°You are the one who set a precedent, Aqua,¡± Debbie drawled.
¡°What? I didn¡¯t slap you, I was just swinging my arm¡¡±
It¡¯s just so relaxing to have a conventional, regular conversation with my two best friends again, she thought inwardly with a tinge of cheerlessness though. This is the first time in months we got together. We¡¯ll eventually go back to our own schools and keep going with our own lives¡ Debbie in Canada, even though Aqua and I are in the same country¡ we rarely see each other¡¯s prosaic tiredness after a school day. We don¡¯t live in the same world now. And it¡¯s sad.
¡°Everyone is integral to our group,¡± Claudia murmured, as if speaking to the crystals, ¡°if one if missing, then nothing will ever be same again.¡±
They could talk about politics and world peace for hours and hours and never think of the word ¡°bored.¡± This plan of this short reunion was simply exhaustive since everybody was always having some kind of plans.
Sipping strawberry juice now, Claudia beheld the setting sun before her. The three cronies just sat together, not doing anything in particular. The whole house was bathed in harmony and blandness.
¡°You okay?¡± Aqua asked when Claudia closed her eyes and frowned.
¡°When I feel happy, I¡¯m afraid that I¡¯ll lose it soon,¡± said Claudia, her eyes still closed.
People always say, ¡°Silence is gold,¡± but silence was only loud at the second.
Breaking the silence, Claudia asked, ¡°Don¡¯t you think about it, too? The sun will disappear in a trice, and I don¡¯t know when we can talk like this again.¡±
¡°Claudia¡ the sun will set today before it comes up again tomorrow.¡±
¡°No, Debbie, that¡¯s nature¡¯s course; that¡¯s different from human friendships. When today is gone, we will be gone as a group, too.¡±
¡°Don¡¯t be so extreme, Claudia,¡± Aqua didn¡¯t know if she was consoling or scolding, ¡°let¡¯s live for the moment.¡±
¡°It¡¯s six. Debbie¡¯s got to go on her plane soon,¡± Claudia murmured softly. Aqua and Debbie could hear, but she was telling the crystals.
¡°I¡¯ll be always thinking of you guys,¡± whispered Debbie.
Debbie had always known that Claudia had a deficit of strong feelings on her face, but at times she had more powerful emotions than anyone.
They were at the doorsteps now.
¡°Tomorrow, guys, don¡¯t forget.¡±
¡°Tomorrow,¡± smiling, Debbie and Claudia responded.
