I love a good war film.
my 5 fave films of all time:-
1. apocalypse now
2. saving private ryan
3. schindler's list
4. a bridge too far
5. where eagles dare
they are all war films! (well schindler's list sort of is, but not really I suppose. but it is set in WW2!)

I like movies based on books...even though most are really bad in translation. I'm hoping Factotum doesn't fall prey to Hollywood. Bukowski is an amazing writer.

i like films with soul ... i don't mind what category they clothe themselves in ... my fave films are "Dances with Wolves" ... "The Fifth Element" ... "City of Angels" ... "Meet Joe Black" ... "Notting Hill" ... there are probably more but i can't recall their titles right now *grin ... a film needs to grab me, make me think, cry, laugh ... and it needs to make a footprint in my life ...

Well, I love all Movies! Movies are a big part of my life. But I do admit I'm extremely particular. I'm a student of theatre and do not take kindly to bad scripts, directing and acting. But genre, I love them all. Right now my favorite film is a little one called CRASH which if you haven't seen, you must! One of the greatest films ever made. I tend to like the small films by independent directors and go out of my way to find them. But I love my big blockbusters too... when done well. It sometimes seems more difficult to make the BIG movie than the smaller ones. I have to admit, I'm not that big on comedies or romantic comedies. There's not many of them that really get deep into the subjects, but there are a few. I have a total, wacked out passion for... HORROR FILMS!!  I've watched and loved them since I was 6 years old. I even teach a class on them called The American Horror Film. I even like the bad ones! One of my all time favorite "bad" horror movies is "Night of the Creeps!" Hard to find but well worth the hunt.  |

I guess, that primarily my favorite are the suspense movies..."Silence of the Lambs" "Kiss the Girls" "Girl Interrupted" also liked "The Godfather" "Whatever Happened to Mary Jane?" and "Misery" movies like that, but I too enjoy commedies very much, Need a laugh everyonce in a while you know??? ....muse
