Probably won't sound like a practical solution for most. But guys, I haven't owned a car in twenty years! Me and my bike go everywhere! Yes, I do sometimes catch a lift from friends when I need to go to Santa Fe or somewhere like that, but pretty much it's me, my mountain bike and backpack. Think about all the times you jump in the car just because it seems convenient. And there are also three wheelers you can buy with BIG baskets to carry all those groceries you need.

Carpooling has been going on for a long time, but I'll bet recently has jumped 10 fold..and as rrw says there are always the bikes and mini scooters, seeing more and more of them every day...As well as there is public transportation, city busses' etc....Too you might be able to research on the computer..but I heard something about NOT filling up your tank at a station when the tank trucks are there, filling...don't get the quality...have to go back later, more bang for the buck or should I say $10.00 ...LOL not quite there yet, but I wouldn't be surprised the way it's going.......does that make sense to anyone.....

Well, if only we had rickshaws, lol! thanks musie, rrw and bob.. Another tip is to cut on entertainment allowance-- instead of dinners out with friends, invite them to your house , pot luck and put on the music for feel--good mood. Oh, and turn out unecessary lights to save on electricity.. this can also enahnce the ambiance..

Good morning, Here in Canada, we just went through a major public transportation strike. And the carpooling came even more handy this time around. Although, if it's possible for you to do so, take the bus. Definitely cheaper all around!
Also, in general, medications are very expensive. When you do go to the drug stores to get them, ask your pharmacist about a substitute of your medications that would obtain the same ingredients but would be way cheaper...I actually asked one day, and ended up saving $ 30 extra every month. Just like any on shelf medications, look for the no-name bran, look at the ingredients....it's the same and often can save between $ 2-4 dollars every time! It does add up! And the same goes for cleaning products, or groceries.... Especially if you have a big family! Try to buy in quantity...leave the major bran behind...you'll notice the difference and you won't taste the difference....it's the same!
Just something I do!
