Adrift upon a feathered sea, soft harp strings bring me harmony That soothes me in so many ways, like pages of my summer days, A distant Celtic serenade, that brings me back before I fade Into my dark obscure domain, a half forgotten red wine stain Upon a lace clad window seat, that touched the ocean’s timeless beat With silken serendipity, like old friends coming back to me, For dirty windows ringed with rust, and raindrops writing in the dust Explain to me more vividly, that more than ships sail on a sea.
Aware of so much more than time, a half forgotten ancient rhyme Of quietness personified, of every dream that ever tried To journey down an unlit lane, to see if darkness can explain Why they so often lose the light, as morning lifts the veil of night, And whispers scurry through the dawn, those messengers of being born Creating all that went before, those footprints on the golden shore That scattered through the heart of me, green fertile seeds of being free To write the only way I know, my name upon the morning’s glow.
Unknown for such a long long while, a living breathing oenophile Crept quietly inside my song, like blood red remnants that belong Beneath the near dead roots of me, before my eyes could truly see How limitless a thought can stay, a constant winding Appian way Where pounding feet once shook the air, as others ran in stark despair, While in the vineyards in the sun, a Bacchanalian gleam is spun From bolts of silken serenades, before the sunset finally fades…

It is so well done poet! wowo! I find wordless to praise your poem here, i guess i can only put into such broken expression to cheer you! ...it is like a ancient wine - very mellow and tasteful! it is like the gorgeous sunsets- rich with splendid glows! it is as if a soothing summer wind - cooling, smooth, yet haunting... it is like sitting beside a thousands roses flower bed- mouthful, heartfelt withheld the deepest scents and fragrance! wow! how very stunning gift you have shared with us here! i guess from now on i cannot sense anything, nor breath any for a long while after read your poem!
