Morning sun on hills, a slow smile spreading Over the contours of a whiskered face Soft water-music spun on silver-blue shallows Hawthorn, spread in filigree fans of white lace Upon the wide, jade skirts edging the loch Wind through the birches, gentle as loving hands Leaf-whispers stirring the breathless stillness The song of birds sighing where time expands Into unfathomable infinities of quietude Heather blooming against the cool green slopes Where drifts of wild flowers quiver and entwine And seagulls lift and soar like risen hopes Above the realms of sun-warmed interlude.... Poem of The Week

This is quite beautiful Katriona, with exceptional imagery. I was standing on those hills bathing in the morning, and looking for you, never mind, I might find you one day...Keith.

Thanks for the lovely comment Keith, in fact it would be lovely if us "regulars" who write here could meet one day, and wouldn't it just be lovely if that place happened to be Scotland.... And seagulls lift and soar like risen hopes Uh-oh! A little personification there! Next you will be telling us that nature is a conscious being! Sunny said it well. It is like taking a walk with you through the nature that you love. The senses go crazy with your descriptions. Again, as always, wonderful work.
