Dark wingbeats linger in a well of unforeseen ambiguence And flutter over moss clad walls like painted ladies of the shade Like harbingers of half way there, they lack only experience, Blind fingers daubing pastel paint, oblivious of the mess they made As through an arch of ancient hours dripped dying gold from wine red skies That linked the twilight’s stepping stones, like bracelets given to the night And dreams that fade from blue to grey, then slowly wane from tear filled eyes That take the handkerchief of dawn, and wipe away their whispered white.
Those butterflies that melt the sun’s bronze chrysalis to free the day Arrange themselves in elegance as climbing roses on a frame Then patiently they warm their wings, and quietly they drift away Between dawn’s smoulderings, to see the phoenix rise from morning’s flame, Then they scatter like confetti at the sacred wedding of the hours As moments carry bridal veils that wave in whispers through the air Where guests are just unwanted days, and seconds caught in April showers And painted ladies dance between the secret pages that they share.
Oblivious of their beauty, hand stitched sequences drift slowly by Imperious reflections bouncing echoed splinters of their rhyme Vermilion bells with silver chimes in cloud cathedrals of the sky Sound thanks to their creation, though they never need to ring the time, As the day blinks through the afternoon, with eyes of sun split rain It feels there is something missing, although it just cant see the light So into the weary wishing well, it casts a coin again And wished that it could wander through the shadows of the coming night… .

I am so envious of your ability to write like this, the long flowing stanzas still hold a strong sense of melody, the diction is superb, the cross rhyming is flawless and your descriptive writing ability is fantastic! I feel like this poem is best enjoyed when spoken aloud, the alliteration and rhyming adds a little more punch to an already brilliant poem. I'll be back to read this one again, I am sure of that.
