The August evening air is soft With fragrance of the meadow musk Outlined by twilight I can see The dreamy trees alert in dusk Shadows creep across the skies Then swiftly drift away As darkness gently steals upon The remnants of the day Then drifting by horizons rim Thus fades the final ray And veils of dark make swift descent To blot all trace of day The Hunter's Moon in regal bloom Performs her splendid show Streaming down her shining beams Upon the world below One by one the twinkling stars Peep from a distant place Like gems upon a tapestry Hung out in time and space A galaxy of tiny lights Suspended way up high Light up like sequins stitched upon The curtain of the sky And I surely know for certain That this celestial rendez-vous Beguiling as night's secrets Is like magic filtering through....

;D Speaking of "like magic", that's what this poem is. Very pretty, descriptive and well done. This one has a soft, hushed feeling to me like a gentle, Fall evening breeze. Very nice!

Dear Ann, now why did I expect to see this poem about the moon? An absolute cracker this poem, it has the feel of the mystic of the ancients from when she was a goddess and the still magic way we hold her today, brilliant.
