Between reality and dreams, so many differences it seems So many ways to wander through the country lanes that we both do, So many smiles, so many tears, so many unrelenting fears So many thoughts to ponder on, so much was here but now is gone So much that wanders on the wind, where once our hopes and dreams were pinned So much that carried us away, so many rooms, no time to Pray For every sad relinquished hope, for all those times we couldn’t cope, So many long gone shades of time, so many poems that never rhyme.
Through sunrise hope to twilight dread, there is so much still to be said For hours consist of stepping stones, life’s music plays in many tones And sometimes when life’s music dies, it paints a picture in our eyes Of patient and serene despair, for every song that isn’t there For every wish that walked too far, and tripped over it’s falling star For every wishing well run dry, and every whispered lonely cry That tried so hard to find it’s ways through shards of long forgotten days And though the sun rises each day, sometimes we go another way.
Yet even though the night mist fades into so many tinctured shades That from a manger, from a shed, the dawn is waiting to be led Down palm leaved lanes of lifted hearts to where the sunrise really starts, For eyes that look up to the sky don’t have to wonder where or why, There is no need to carry loads to far off lands on winding roads, Our load just needs to be set free, no need to burden you or me, Then we can stroll within ourselves, no more sad unread books on shelves Our pages opened to the sun, where every dream we need is spun…

;D I love your poems as I've said before. But this one brought tears to my worn, tired eyes! No possible way to describe this but I'll try. It's one of the simplest put but most finely stated pieces on having faith that I've ever read. My best friend is more into "organized religion" than I. Though I think we both share a measure of faith and hope, most definitely love. I plan to read this to him. Thank you! Mike

Wow! Like 'Walking side by side' This work is definitive and beautifully constructed. Who are you, really? Does Shakespeare's shade now rest in you?
Theo, appreciatively
