Out walking on a cloud swept night, I felt the winds of heaven speak Of wiping whispers from the light, to let the golden angel seek A pathway through the forest shade, where rivulets of evening flow Past splintered green and frosted jade, a world where even shadows glow, A world of not quite in between, where neither you or I have sailed A wooden cross, a holy scene, a place where every sin was nailed, And far out past the blood stained trail, there is a ship that waits for me A crimson cross upon it’s sail, a Templar drifting on the sea.
I heard her sing Amazing Grace, astounding in it’s sanctitude Another time another place, where even dreams will not intrude, A place where silence seeks a voice, to penetrate the heart of man Another hope, another choice, another contemplative plan, Along a road there stands a tree, that whispers to each passing ear The words we feel but cannot see, the words that take away our fear, And sometimes there is still a stain, that somehow just wont go away But tries so gently to explain that faith grows stronger day by day.
We stood there talking side by side, so many reasons in our rhyme No place for anything to hide, transparent is the cloak of time, His voice held traces of before, a sacred place of long ago Another house, another door, a place that some have still to know, And as we talked of when and where, a voice called softly from behind Like distant music on the air, that felt so heavenly designed, As suddenly the night dripped gold, and everywhere the sky was sea And just before he left, he told that all our dreams would come to be…

Boy did I love this!! I actually said aloud when this "wow" 3 times. This poem has such a elegant rhyme and meter to it. So wonderfully thought through. Perhaps my next comment may not be clear in meaning but you really seem to have a gift in making the last 4 or five words pay off with tremendous imagery and meaning yet it never feels forced or pandering. Just profound. I feel so uplifted by your work. Inspirational Examples "rivulets of evening flow" "even shadows glow" "where neither you or I have sailed" "a place where every sin was nailed" "that whispers to each passing ear" the words that take away our fear" "everywhere the sky was sea" "he told that all our dreams would come to be…"

It's been a long time since I've read metered verse that beautiful that wasn't written more than a hundred years ago. Your content was uplifting and worthy of an anthem.
Thank you, Theo
