I must have encountered her on a crumbled hill Where scatterings of leaves russet deepened, snake-like On reckless winds that fizzled and shivered chill, While watching her carry a basket adorned with blooms alike. She is Loveliness, forlorn among cavities of drowsy forest, More forlorn than endings, or all that death can ever reach, Images of pale and stretched collapsing arms attest The weariness splashed on porcelain face erased by life’s peach, Still, the splendor in her eyes etched wonder beyond reason With all her sorrowful mystery, a wild charm wafts sweet odor A pearl of stillness conquering dreams of many a season.
There and then, a portrait of eternity blushes her tresses, Like a dream amidst sprockets filled with winsome gaiety, I steal a lingering gaze, her limbs straw-berried by breezes, In her almond eyes the early night whispers spontaneity. Again and again, my blood curdles upon a river of my longing, Where all but the seagulls hooting turn to condensed solace Engulfing my safe dwellings, guarding all manhood's pining Of how she grates in a trellis of melancholic haze, ageless Beside wreaths of stream, her hands blow a fragile flush, Nothing in my days did such silhouette find me in sweetest thrill, That I am humbly beholden by this glimpse of a blossom's lush Standing between life and death, Loveliness is on a crumbled hill

Bittersweet and beautiful, a straight to the heart poem about how most people are, sweet and pretty (handsome if a man) but not without underlying pain and sorrow. This is a lady I'd be glad to know! Well done! Namaste, Mike
