A flock of starlings perched today upon the power lines each bird, it seemed, a music note, and its score sure looked fine, heard sung by the sparrows perched in my lilac tree who sung each note in perfect tone, sung enthusiastically, filled with joy, that feathered chorus sang and sang with glee… And then the starlings took to wing and lifted to the sky, a dancing chorus line of birds like waves of ribbons flying high, a great moving wave in unison dancing on the wind, together, then drifting apart, then together once again in a wondrous, swirling pattern without a single flaw… And I heard the music, watched the dance as I looked up in awe. Beautiful but thank God Alfred Hitchcock is no longer around! OK, I couldn't resist, sorry. More seriously this is a very pretty poem. We have a small bathroom on the first floor in the front of our home. The window looks out upon and through a large bush to the road and neighbors' homes. Birds, usually sparrows or chickadees, come and sit in the bush. If you'll pardon me, at times while I'm in there as Nature calls I answer a second call of Nature and talk to these small, feathered friends! Congrats on a well deserved POTD! Take care, Mike
