"Semper Fi!", it's do or die, I give the corps my all.
"Semper Fi!" is what I cry as I pray that I don't fall.
There is a cost as home is lost while I am miles away.
And I dearly miss those I can't kiss as I fight on day by day.
As long as I'm in I'll wear a grin while up against my foe.
Someday I'll be out and "Oorah!" I'll shout if I don't die, this I know.
With comrades strong I march along with my rifle in my hand.
I don't want to kill but perhaps I will in this strange and foreign land.
The corps is my home as on I roam trying not to show my fear.
I've been taught to fight and I hope it's right, protecting things that I hold dear.
Because, as they say, I might die today so that you can all live free.
And until I return to those I yearn, a Marine is who I'll be!
Michael "Oorah!" Gallatin

This one tears my heart strings and makes me realize just how lucky I am. I bow my head in a prayer for them all! Ulla xx ;D for your concern and for your prayers. Ever since my son joined the Marines I became much more aware of what a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine faces. This is especially true if they go to war! Not knowing much of the time where they are, what they're doing or even if they're OK. Hoping your son or daughter is still alive and not maimed and that nobody comes to your door with sad news. It's something that affects not only the person serving but the entire family. It's a wild and crazy experience! I still see Marine stickers on cars. If I see a Marine or soldier in public, I often stop to say hello and thank them. And I constantly pray for all the "kids" still sadly fighting miles from home! Peace, Mike

My son certainly made his family proud! I support all the "kids" who serve in our military and I pray for them as well. I may not believe in the war but I honor the soldier. Regardless of the so-called causes of a war, a soldier serves his or her country and may be required to die for it. And I'm grateful that a President finally has the presence of mind to prepare for our vets returning home. Take care, Mike
