I thought I could hear the ocean in the coolness of the dawn So many whisper winding shadows that danced softly on the air, All those rustling windswept reasons of life gently being born As evening’s lantern light dimmed slowly at the bottom of the stair, And I heard dawn’s secrets rising like a sleepy day time moon Peeping over cloudy blankets at the blossoms of the day, While somewhere a newborn child’s first breath felt like creation’s tune As the ocean sighed remembrances of nature’s flowing sway.
I felt my soul sense every motion of life’s deep eternal flow When black velvet turned over in bed, and changed to morning green, And early hours like rainbow flowers danced in their meadow glow Like spiralled cornucopias their beauty fed each scene Of life’s many paged scenarios and imaged solitaires That brought me back from where I’d been, and walked me up the stairs, To where the lantern shone once more through scintillating lace As all at once I sensed again life’s deeply sacred grace.
Over my shoulder I could feel the tiptoed touch of yesterday Even nature sat behind me in the sorrow of my shade The things I felt, the things I did, the things I never meant to say, To shine her sun upon me, and to hope my sorrows fade, As I looked up, upon my head I felt a Prayer touch quietly Between the stepping stones of life, the trickling waters called to me With the flowing velvet magic that would carry me so peacefully To show me where my path would lead, and where my happiness would be…

Echo, ditto, yup! Andrew, as they say in England, is spot on in what he said. Couldn't agree more! Nicely done, Mike

Your sentence "I felt my soul sense..." proves true Keith, only if your soul has felt you can write such awesome poetry. Whatever I would add - it says nothing - compared to the "talk" of your wonderful poem. Thanks you! Ulla xx
