On this late summer evening all is still The sun slants over crowns of pristine snow To fade in its last hour of afterglow It kindles in me humbleness and thrill. So often I have thought at random will Those hills can look into my heart and know My love for them will never die, but grow Until one day life ends and I must go. Forever then I'll walk the endless strands That melt into this bay of silver-blue Beyond the dancing waves far to the west Where seagulls wheel above the rosy sands And love is always faithful, always true Yes, only then shall I feel wholly blessed

Thanks Lisa ! The reason for suggesting either a Petrarchan or Spenserian Sonnet Challenge is that we have had several English Sonnet Challenges before here, so I just thought it might be fun with another one with a different rhyming scheme..... Heart2Heart fantastic images and such a beautifully written sonnet, thanks for entering the challenge and for thinking it up! much luck to you!

Not really Johan, I do enjoy writing sonnets though although I would not say I have written many, something about their general form which appeals a lot to me that's all Katriona. Good Sonnet Katriona, but it should be, you have had a lot of practice, good luck in the comp. Johan

I'm surprised by what you said Katriona, that you have even bothered entering this competition.
