What are your favourite lunch and dinner foods?
Personally, im a big fan of pub food! I love a good beer and poutine. For the most part, though, I cook at home... Lots of pasta, raw veggie plates, baked yams, perogies, curried chickpea salad, potatoes, salmon/tuna, BBQ chicken burgers, baked beans, 7 layer dip, taco soup, etc.
What about you?

Decided to do something different from poems today and ended up here. I've been married to a sweet lady for 36 years now. She was born in Italy and came to the US when she was about 13. When I dated her, I got to know real Italian food. No more Chef Boyardee pasta in a can thank God! The list includes; homemade pizza, cannolis, linquini with shrimp, Italian ices, pizza cana, rice pie and goes on and on. The best was at Christmas when my in-laws were both alive. Only my mother-in-law is left now and doesn't cook like they used to. Back then for Christmas, since they were from Naples, was about five different kinds of seafood; shrimp, baccala (cod), eel, orange roughy and smelts. Another favorite was homemade meatballs. I must have eaten around 15 or 16 once. My father-in-law thought it was amusing to see me stuff myself and kept saying "Mange, mange!" And, of course, my mother-in-law was ecstatic. Ah, the blessed good, old days! Somewhat sad that they're gone now! Enjoy good food, Mike

This is interesting,Mike. My wife's mother's family is Calabrese and her father was from Naples. I grew up in L.A. and always say that the closest I ever came to eating Italian was Chef Boyardee and I thought he was french. Renee and I have been married for going on 34 years- I've gotten 145 pounds heavier through all of them. My family are Scots who murdered all their food by boiling it. Salt and pepper were as exotic as they cared to dare. No wonder my mother-in-law said I was raised by wolves. I love the Seven Fishes of Christmas! Does your wife sneak sour cabbage or pork in your food at New Year for luck? 'Mange, Mange' was my mantra for the first 10 years of marriage. I once made the mistake of saying that I thought I could make better meatballs than Renee. OMG! I still haven't lived that down. Lunch or dinner I'm not picky about but Renee makes the best 'Eggs on Toast' with Italian bread, peppers and potatoes for breakfast.
