Justice for Trayvon
death of their son is the death of all of our dear sons
root of hatred runs deep within a fearful mind and soul
self-appointed neighborhood watcher man who thought he was the man
committed the ultimate crime against mankind and took the life of a "suspicious" looking young man
who was wearing a hoodie and who was "armed" with a can of Arizona tea and a bag of Skittles
a life of promise and a kid's dreams of playing football and flying airplanes erased in seconds
a mother, a father forever left grieving for their son's laughter and loving embrace
for the remainder of their lives they will forever hear the recorded sounds of their son's last frightened screams for help
all because their son was a young man whose only crime was walking down a dark street while Black
cries of injustice speak louder than the reckless actions of this one lost man
a call for calm has been made to try to quiet the brewing storm
within engulfing winds screams justice for Trayvon
