Winter's Comfort
Out of the chimney float wood smoke curls
The air is full of dancing snowflake swirls,
I love the sound of burning branches
And the fragrance from logs of oak trees.
The fire lit room with dim light gives peace
It seems so easy here to release,
This cosy feeling stirs deep content
A quiet heart, a simple home are heaven sent.
A day dream appears of blackbirds and boughs
I can almost hear the sound of spring laughs.

H'm, sounds like something I could envy. Hell, we ALL do envy people with snow down here. It can never be too cold for us, save during the monsoon. And even then, they don't last.

At present there is a lot too much of this white splendor here, so I would gladly share... Thank you for your nice comment CR. Ulla xx

I can almost hear the sound of spring laughs. I just love this closing line. I also love the "cozy" feel of the whole poem. This is delightful... and we don't get enough delightful written in this special way.

Ulla dear, it is beautiful the way you describe Winter`s Comfort ! The way your heating system works is so well descreptive ... a lesson for me as I know nothing about it. And the Spring laughs say the next seoson will be with you soon ! Thanks for one more great job !
Domício.

You're so kind always Domìcio, thank you for this and even liking it (smile). The first shy flowers stretch out their head from ice and snow and they definitely invite Spring to hurry by. Your comment has made my Sunday, thanks so much. Ulla xx
