Grande Pantelones was at one time a gung-ho Marine with a battle-hardened body and wits that were keen.
But he's found it's quite easy to give up his gun as he took on the fine job of raising a son.
Yet there are some things that he learned in the corps, stuff he can teach to his boy so that he knows the score.
There's times when this world can come at you so rough and if you want to live in it, then you have to be tough.
You need courage to face what you go through each day, the skills to march onward so that you'll be OK.
And honor's important as is knowing what's right, when to be peaceful and when you sure need to fight.
He'll be a great father while he nurtures his child so the lad will be strong but he won't run too wild.
There'll be structure but with love and all the lessons between, all that you can learn from a gung-ho Marine!
Michael "Oorah Guys!" Gallatin
Note To Readers - This one brought tears to my eyes folks and that happens sometimes but not all that often. I'm so very proud of both of them and I'm glad to share that feeling with you! Semper Fi and I hope you all enjoy this. Bless you all!

I like the overall story you are creating with this and the first one... nice flow to it... and charming in its way... good work, Mike.

Personally I think that leadership knows no bounds, regardless where you are and what to do. It is good to know your grandson is in good hands.

Thank you so much for your kind words, they make me even more proud! I think of Justin as having been a fine Marine. I've never really thought much of him as a leader. Yet as a corporal that would have been part of his role. So, I appreciate your reminding me that my son was not only a good Marine but also had the qualities needed to lead others. That only adds to the things he learned (in a tough manner but well) that help to make him a great man, son, husband and father! Thank you so much, Mike

With this continuation poem you really tell such a moving story, you share the sweet pride of a Dad and the relief about the blessing to have got your son back healthy. This poem sure moved me to tears too for I know how you feel about it all. Blessings on you and yours all! Ulla xx

Thank you! We were blessed to get Justin home both physically and mentally well, He's a great guy and the Marines just honed his traits of strength of character and inner reserve. I'm proud of all my "kids" but Justin is the most obviously charismatic and the one I'd look to for physical and emotional strength the most. Jason is most like me, a dreamer with lots of heart but a bit on the melancholic side (also like me). Alyssa is just so sweet, used to be shy, showing her "smarts" the most and using her education but also with deep emotion underneath. So, easy to see why all of them are precious!
Take care, Mike
