I ache inside. Not for one lost, But for its lack.
I ache inside. Not for one past, But for tomorrow.
I ache inside. To feel anything. Anything other than nothing. Anything other than sameness. Anything other than me.
I ache inside. To hear a laughter, Free from fear, Free from anger, Free from heartache, Free with love.
I ache inside. To feel the warm touch. To hear the heart beat. To feel warm breath. To hear my name with words of love.
I ache inside. To feel safe arms. To feel not too tiny hands. To feel the gentle touch of care. To not just feel alone.
I ache inside. For opportunities lost. For moments not had. For lips never kissed. For hands never held. For hair never stroked. For clothes never tossed. For moments forever lost.
I ache inside.
I ache inside.
I ache inside.

Well, hello and welcome to Echoes! A pleasure to meet you. A bit sad that the first poem I read is so painful. But it is honest, open, well said and most certainly to the point. An extremely heartfelt piece that opens us up to sharing the pain of love lost. So, sad and painful but stark, open and well presented my new friend. Here's hoping this isn't from your real life though often that's where our inspiration comes from. If it is, take care, be patient, it's quite likely that love will come your way in time!
Namaste, Mike

Welcome to Echoes and thank you for sharing this poem, so sad and somehow a cry but beautifully penned, impressing and stirring the wish for the aches to be smoothed away. Take care! Ulla xx
