Feels like a good day today. From the living room window the gray sky outside smiles at me through the bird stained windows of my apartment.
The leafless elm trees that hang out on Pennsylvania Ave. have humbly accept their winter nakedness, and with the help from a gentle Oklahoma breeze (that doesn't seem to realize it's still winter) wave hi, invite me outside for a pleasant walk to the mall.
And soon I'll put some clothes on, brush my teeth, comb what's left of my hair and gather up all the personal gear I'll need ( glasses, Levi jacket, baseball cap and cell phone) and make the block and a half hike through the suburban wilderness of the north side of Oklahoma City to see a movie at the Dickinson.
And on my way to popcorn and a large ice tea and a fake velvet seat in a dark auditorium, I'll remember our elders who tamed the wilds of Oklahoma so I might (in my later years) enjoy a 3-D version of-- GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE!

Great poem RRW, the way you assemble the all daily things of life with the everlasting history of your country and the description of the way from bed to watching a fascinating lively movie simply is an admirable idea. Gives even a glimpse of your day and with this presence it is impressing. Thank you. Ulla xx

As always Rob I enjoy your poetic rambles, though not rambles really, just your great poetry that comes from your thoughts of life.

I am always amazed at just how well you know yourself, warts and all, and how accepting you are. Your poetry reveals a human being who basically never gets caught up in the trappings of ego. Robert, you wrap your legs around your life like an old piano bench, familiar, some new sscratches here and there but all the same, nothing you care to change. Enjjoyed watching your world.

I try to find the poetic tone of things that are ordinary. not sure I have got it down the way I would like but I'm getting closer.
