Mountain Times It is something so special To reach a mountain's peak So close to sky we get quiet And just don't wish to speak If we sit on the warm rocks Take in the incredible view Or we trudge through deep snow Both a pleasure for me and you Nowadays I dream of a snow-walk While chair lift moves you uphill With boots and hands in the pockets I watch your snowboarding thrill So easy you race down the slopes A powdery tail following you My hands now get a release After fingers crossed all through You wish winter lasts longer But I already focus on Spring When snow caps subside and waters Playfully bounce over everything In any season of the year I am aware that we both love The mountains in all their beauty And we respect the dangers thereof Let us be grateful for seasons For mountains, forest and sea God grants a world so unique Inspiration for you and me

PS, I really love the spirit of this piece... playful yet with a wink at nature's dangerous side. Lovely put... two people with different likes living together. Nice work.

As usual my friend you write well of Nature out of the love you have for its wonders. Winter is beautiful but for me just a tad COLD! I too yearn for the warmth and rebirth of Spring.
Bless you, Mike

As always Ursula your poem is outstanding and a beautiful winter's read, though no snow here on Portland.

No snow here in the lower country too, Andrew, but still I can see the Alps from a far and they are all white down to the valleys. So I can still dream.... Thank you! Ursula xx

damn....I live in a big city, some several km away from the Straits of Melaka....the only "mountains" we got are basically limestone hills. This poem definitely captures the wanderlust and envy I feel whenever I look at the horizon...and I see them there.

Thanks for commenting CR, it's much appreciated. So when you feel envy in regards of the mountains, I do feel so when I dream of the sea... Each one is gifted with some special beauty of nature and at the same time dreaming of some beauty out of reach. Ulla xx

I know those mountains of which you write, Ulla, I have climbed them as well. They are themost beautiful in the world. Love this high spirited poem! Huggs-Jan
