I like it, CR, and applaud the ambition of the piece... but for me to get a full understanding of the story, I had to look at some research... My thoughts are that I shouldn't have to research the events your talking about to appreciate them...

You are an historian and it shows is just about all of your writing. War is war, battlefields covered in blood, it makes me want to write a new one on the subject. I am currently researching this particular point in time for my next novel. I just love the way you write prose/poetry! I actually have a bnew one entitled "Waltzing the Shadow" but could not get it on this page today, will try again tomoreow.
