Sailing through the stars and stirring sun A morning moon unaware his tasks are done Smiles sleepily on frosted lake and lawn And fields awakening to January's dawn In company with many twinkling stars Among the moon's bright rays of silver bars There is a peaceful calm and all is still As darkness bends to timid blush of will Whilst moonlight pierces frosty morning air I see that Dawn has tied pink ribbons in her hair Adorning trees with rosy loveliness As light and gentle as a reticent caress I wonder if such charms are just a worldly dream A brilliant decoration in another scheme Linked to only one immense eternity Now captured in the beauty of earth's tapestry? I do not know, yet feel my spirits rise Responding to the glory set before my eyes And so I raise my face to feel the sun's first kiss For all seems possible on mornings such as this......

This is a kiss that can't be topped by anything else. Katriona your poem is so very beautiful it simply stirs tears and the picture painted with your poetic words is far more unique than the picture you added - though it is beautiful too. You gave a smile to my heart that lasts all weekend, thank you! Ulla xx

Katriona (what a pretty name too), this is beautiful! And funny that the first reader is the sweet lady who I compared the "heart" in your writing to. This piece is soft, gentle and peaceful. And it makes me think! As Ulla says, she walks in Nature a lot and you so much appreciate its beauty, perhaps doing more of this would also ease my tired soul. It is definitely something to think about and hopefully also act on!
Namaste, Mike

Nice to see you again, Heart! As always a wonderful way with rhythm and rhyme... you and nature... hard to think of one with out the other.

Oh thank you Ulla for your kind words. This picture could have been taken from where I live, the scenery is very similar, although I face west and get the most wonderful sunsets. Your poetry is as lovely as your soul Katriona, and it is profoundly moving to me how much you appreciate our world of natural wonders, I hope life is treating you well...Keith.
