I looked past my window pane And watched the sheets of winter rain The downpour filled the potholes of my gray and lonely lane I closed my eyes and I recalled a sunlit summer day In a faraway place where palm trees gently sway A thunder roll and a lightning flash Filled the room with a frightful crash As I sat before the fireplace where the flames had turned to ash I closed my eyes a second time and I found myself once more On my special island strolling on the shore Sunshine, 0h sunshine where did you go Why have you left me to the cold rain and snow Sunshine, 0h sunshine come fill my soul Let me feel the glow I used to feel before It''s been a long December Melt this dreary gloom I can still remember When sunlight filled my room I opened my eyes and I could see My world was unchanged by my fantasy The cold December rain poured off the roof of my balcony I closed the shutters and I reclined in my comfortable easy chair Hoping, that my island would find me there

Well you know I always enjoy your writing and this one was just wonderful, Farkas. I loved your third line extention and rhyme, very different and difficult to accomplish without taking the entire peice out of kilter. Yup, me too...my soul is already wandering back to the sea as it always does this time of year. Jan
