Haiku chain
winter fades away
snow melts, trees waken with buds
spring around the bend
spring around the bend
hungry squirrels in the garden
fewer summer flow'rs
fewer summer flow'rs
sun shining hotly, bakes the earth
time to pray for rain
time to pray for rain
warm smell of wet earth invites
worms out of hiding
worms out of hiding
the kids are puddle jumping
laughter in the air
laughter in the air
heralds summer vacation
no more school 'til fall
no more school 'til fall
beaches filled with families
sound of ice cream trucks
sound of ice cream trucks
calls back a bug to my ear
a swarm of sweat bees
a swarm of sweat bees
buzzing and stinging my skin
time to take a dip
time to take a dip
once more before Labor Day
