In Awe of Spring
Trees are showing light green leaves
Blackbirds sing in sheer delight
While lonely vine sheds joyous tears
Of glittering dew clear and bright.
Spring weaves of green a divine band
O’er hillside and wide-spread field
Oh when will glorious beauty stand
In fathomless awe revealed?
By all this new awakening
We do so rarely play a part
Still nature lead by heavens' string
Succeeds in glory from the start.
