Hey all,
I have been listening to Creed alot lately, and the song "Higher" is really grasping my emotions. The following lyrics are especially speaking to where I am at right now:
"Up high I feel like I'm alive for the very first time Set up high I'm strong enough to take these dreams And make them mine Set up high I'm strong enough to take these dreams And make them mine..." ©Scott Stapp

Hey Lisa,
I like this question
Here are the lyrics that I hold dear right now:
"Life can hold you down When you're not looking up Can't you hear the sounds? Hearts beating out loud Although the names change Inside we're all the same Why can't we tear down these walls? To show the scars we're covering"

Lisa and Sharon, all of us are on the same wavelength. Those are my favorite lyrics from Higher and from Inside Us All. I love those lyrics from Higher because they empower me and make me feel like I can accomplish just about anything I put my mind to. That song ALWAYS makes me feel great!! Sharon, the lyrics you posted are my favorite from Inside Us All because it's a reminder to me that even if I feel alone, we're all more alike than we are different and to be there for each other. Sorry to get all mushy but Scott's/Creed's touch me like no other lyrics ever have and I just wanted to share my thoughts. I have many lyrics that speak to my soul but here's one for now - From Stand Here with Meby Scott Stapp/Creed: Just when fear blinded me you taught me to dream I'll give you everything I am and still fall short of What you've done for me In this life that I live I hope I can give love unselfishly I've learned the world is bigger than me You're my daily dose of reality

Hey Sharon and Sheila. Yeah it does seem we are all thinking along the same lines, Sheila Don't worry about getting mushy, Scott Stapp/Creed wrote some fantastic and emotional lyrics that's one of the reasons why they were and are so popular I absolutely love the lyrics you both posted you two for posting ;D

Hi, I like this question
I am a Chris Cornell fan and Audioslave fan and tehlyric from "Shadow On The Sun" really speak to where I am at in my life right now
"Once upon a time I was of the mind to lay your burden down and leave you where you stood and you believed I could you'd seen it done before I could read your thoughts tell you what you saw and never say a word now all that is gone over with and done - never to return...

Okay as promised here are some more Creed lyrics that speak to me. Some lyrics from the song "One" - The goal is to be unified Take my hand be my brother Society blind by color Why hold down one to raise another Discrimination now on both sides Seeds of hate blossom further The world is heading for mutiny When all we want is unity We may rise and fall, but in the end We meet our fate together LOVE that song!! I promise I will post other lyrics besides Creed the next time but as some of you know, Creed's/Scott Stapp's lyrics have touched me more than any other lyrics.

Hi girls,
I see why you liked Creed so much, those are some very powerfully written lyrics
Nice lyrics from Chris Cornell too
I am into the song. "COld" by Crossfade here is my favorite part:
"I never really wanted you to see The screwed up side of me that I keep Locked inside of me so deep It always seems to get to me I never really wanted you to go So many things you should have known I guess for me theres just no hope I never meant to be so cold"

Cherrie, I love those lyrics from Crossfade. I'm not really familiar with them but I think I'll have to check them out. Another band that I enjoy is U2. Here's some of my favorite lyrics from "Where the Streets Have No Name" - I want to run I want to hide I want to tear down the walls That hold me inside I want to reach out And touch the flame Where the streets have no name I want to feel sunlight on my face I see the dust cloud disappear Without a trace I want to take shelter from the poison rain Where the streets have no name @u2

Hey Sheila, that U2 song is one of my favorites from them
I have been listening to Shinedown and these lyrics are gripping to me:
"BURNING BRIGHT"
I feel like there is no need for conversation Some questions are better left without a reason And I would rather reveal myself than my situation Now and then I consider, my hesitation The more the light shines through me I pretend to close my eyes The more the dark consumes me I pretend I'm burning, burning bright
I wonder if the things I did were just to be different To spare myself of the constant shame of my existence And I would surely redeem myself in my desperation Here and now I'll express, my situation
[CHORUS (2)]
There's nothing ever wrong but nothing's ever right Such a cruel contradiction I know I cross the lines its not easy to define I'm born to indecision There's always something new some path I'm supposed to choose With no particular rhyme or reason
