Running, I ran like sport girl whom I watched from TV, breathless and clumsy. I was late for my work, I don't want to get that kind of look from boss that asking me" why are you late?"
My red skirt flown roughly aside in the wind, my black hairs were messy up with some fallen leaves. As my speeded steps, coffee spelled all over my hand, I lowered down my chin, to sip up every last drop of it. "I am not wasting it..." I said to myself.
It was a very fine sunny morning, few clouds hung from the sky, motionlessly. The street was spinning with many fallen leaves, they warped my legs once in a while as I ran by.
"Sarah!"
A loud voice broken the chill air. I stopped, turned around toward the sound. There came closer a co-worker, he was about half feet taller than me, round shoulders with a face of big smile.
"Sarah! How are you! Haven't seen you for a while!"
He spoke as he walked closer, the dirty blond hair flown up a bit while he moved.
I was shocked for a second,"Sarah?" "Who is Sarah?" I thought silently and quickly searched the name dictionary in my head.
Despited my confusion, he was friendly opening up the conversation about where he was gone while he was absent and how happy he was when he had gone for vacation.
his face was shining from excitement. Under the window light, I saw him blushed with reddish cheeks which irritated from the chilly morning air. The shape of his eyes were curling like two moons on the night sky, smile so ever happily.
'' What a happy guy he is", I told myself, "He is so happy and doesn't realize he talk to a wrong person," I thought.
"So, what is your name?" he was awake at last, Didn't want to wait for my answer, he quickly mumbled;
"Can I just call you Sarah?"
he said eagerly. His eyes were wide open, a longing light of zeal flashed within, his breathes started to become fast.
"So? Can I just call you Sarah?" He repeated.
"I like to call you Sarah!" He gave me another confirmation.
I was stunned-found silent, for the grace of God, whom I shall explain such confusion at this moment! I had not even getting rid of my fears of being late for work, and my hand felt burning pain from the spelling coffee, but now I had to deal with this?! I had to be a person that I don't even know whom she is?!
My face rushed up with warm heat, with my mouth opened wide, I decided to declared my true self, and pronounced my very own - only I who belong- my very OWN NAME TO HIM!
As I stepped up, my eyes met with his, a pair of dark brown lights, jiggled purely with sparks. Like the innocent street lights in the dark, cold winter nights, instantly bring forth warm glows for people. My mouth frizzed, feeling some cold autumn air flowing on my red rush face, my tongue muttered;
"Well.. OK, well, mmm... if you like to call me Sarah, so I will be a Sarah...ok." I hold back my breath and didn't tell him my name.
"Really?!" he cried out.
"So, you will be a Sarah for me?!" His eyes shone ever so bright.
"Ok...yes, if it would make you feel such happy!" I mumbled.
With the lowest voice I sweared that I have never have such tone before. I almost couldn't hear myself.
"But I still want to know your name!" He added on.
"My name is Sunny," I was uttering.
His eyes blinked for few seconds. Hands took out from pockets, he slowly shook my hand gently;
"Sunny?" "Oh,..." He took a breath;
"Sunny, only between you and I, you are Sarah OK? it is our secret OK? I 'll really appreciated! thank you Sunny!" he said excitedly.
His voice seemed to came from another room, I only saw his lips moved.
"Ok..." I answered.
He walked away with happy jumping food steps, disappeared in the end of the hall way. I was glued in the spot till my boss gave me a harsh look from distance, I pulled myself together and ran to my work post.
My head was full of rain and storm all day long, I couldn't clam myself down to normal smile as I do every day. At the last drop of my coffee, I decided to just let it be. I though of myself; Maybe "Sarah" is a dear person for him then or now, maybe "Sarah" is a symbol of his happy mood of the day. If it is just matter of a name calling can make some one fall at such happy state, and why not. Everybody'd like to have someone to bring happiness too. And then, now I have the chance to make others happy, and if I could, why not I do it. It didn't cost me a cent to make him carrying such big smile, it didn't take my coffee away to let him have a good hair day!
So, why not just being Sarah when we meet again.
I started to smile easily, warmth heated up my cheeks, feeling of my red skirt much prettier, I felt my eyes slowly curved up - like the two moons at night sky.
