Justice for Trayvon
death of their son is the death of all of our dear sons
root of hatred runs deep within a fearful soul
self-appointed neighborhood watcher man who thought he was the man
committed the ultimate crime against mankind and took the life of a "suspicious" looking young man
who was wearing a hoodie and who was "armed" with a can of Arizona tea and a bag of Skittles
a life of promise and a kid's dreams ended in seconds because he was a young man whose only crime was walking down the street while black
cries of injustice speak louder than the reckless actions of this one man
a call for calm has been made to try to quiet the brewing storm
within engulfing winds screams justice for Trayvon

hey lisa selfish me didn't comment on the poem first time around. your poem rings true in my heart. your poem speaks volumes bout the injustice here and i don't understand how the killer can just walk away after the worthless police department questions him. am truly clueless. a senseless murder over racail profileing im my humble opinion and sad. i actually thought some raciast idiot heaven forbid would go after president obama. i wonder if someone will try when or if he gets reelected. i think he will get reelected. i am conservative but none of the republicans standout to me. i was to ill to vote last time. i am going to vote this tme around. politics politics? and i do really wonder if justice will be serverd for trayvon???

Lisa, I keep coming back to your wonderful and poignant poem because it is really settling in that nothing will be done and we are powerless to do anything about this young Black man's blatant murder...thank you for being brave enough to bring it all out in the open for all of us to read...you are a powerhouse writer Lisa!

thanks for commenting Victor and I am afraid there will not be justice in this case...and I think this case is deeper than racial profiling in that town...
