DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER YET...READ THE RULES FIRST
Taking a topic challenge…
Here's how it works...the challenge is designed to make you think outside the box or to just try something new. You must write a complete poem in a rhyming format and it can't be on anything you've written before--new stuff only. Make sure if you're going to take the challenge that you have two hours set aside to do it. After you have read the rules, scroll down to a topic challenge you haven't done before. Anyone can post a topic, but the challengers cannot respond to their own challenge. Once you have seen it...quote it with your response. This will do two things...one, it will tell us you've accepted the challenge...and two, it will tell us your start time of the challenge. The beauty of the challenge is that the topics are vague enough to allow the poet to use their artistic license. Interpret the challenge figuratively of literally—it’s your work…Good Luck and have fun.
Challenging another poet…
If you would like to challenge another poet, write a post saying “I would like a poetry duel.” The person accepting the duel will respond by quoting the duel request and await a topic. The winner of the challenge will be determined by the most votes in the first five responses or the most votes in 24 hours from the last post. Failure for the poet to post within the two hours will also count as a loss. Of course, I will not know if you read ahead a started to write before responding, so please have a little integrity and respond as soon as you read the topic. Best of luck to all of you who wish to participate.
. . I posted an example of how it should look below...just scroll down through the first page and you'll see how it works... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . First Topic Life in a Fishbowl

I'll give you and example of how it looks. CD

EXAMPLE OF POSTED CHALLENGE RESPONSESee the posted time on this stamp above and the last quote below...this challenge would have been 15 minutes. EXAMPLE OF QUOTED RESPONSEWrite about a car crash... (I acknowledge by quoting this entry to accept the challenge) My time starts now. (notice that this entry has a time stamp...my two hours will start from this posted time) This was an actual challenge I was given once... (I hope that gives you a good example of how it works) Dying Day (Requested) Car crash, face smashed Critical condition No hope, lumped throat Just call it intuition Hand holding, faith folding What else can I do? Flashbacks, think back The times of me and you White bed, almost dead Still I'm by your side Last breath, ‘fore death You ask us not to cry Can't take it, won't make it What am I to do? No games, the same After losing you So strong, your mom As we embrace and cry EKG, beep bee…. Why'd you have to die? My friend, the end I'm trying to be strong Request, one guest Can I come along?
